ABOUT THE ARTIST:
Background: Nathalie Beauvillain Scott is an award-winning artist born in Fontainebleau, near Paris, and currently based in Surrey, England. She returned to the UK in 1993 and is highly active in the Guildford arts community.
Specialty: She is best known for her highly detailed oil portraits, capturing everyday people, children, celebrities, and pets. Her technique is time-consuming, typically starting with a detailed pencil drawing before applying many thin, precise layers of oil paint on canvas.
Murals & Public Art: Beyond canvas portraits, she has an impressive portfolio of large-scale public art. She has painted murals across various Surrey schools, homes, a Guildford underpass, and a well-known mural on Chapel Street in Guildford. She also helps facilitate community art projects and public installations.
Exhibitions & Community: Nathalie's work has been exhibited at the National Portrait Gallery as part of the prestigious annual Portrait Awards. She also works as an art tutor, running one-on-one classes and group workshops throughout Surrey, and recently hosted a "Faces of Guildford" exhibition celebrating local community figures.
