This photograph – an untitled artwork by Rotimi Fani-Kayode – hangs in Electric Lane, on a side wall of 432 Coldharbour Lane.
Rotimi Fani-Kayode (Nigeria, 1955–1989) fought for the rights of queer African photographers, partly by creating nude self-portraits. He produced most of his work during the 1980s, at the height of the AIDS epidemic. He died in 1989 as a result of the disease.
