La Louve

La Louve - Ciudad de México - MAY 2025
Festival internacional de graffiti femenino Juntas Hacemos Mas

La Louve is the portrait of a divine woman half warrior and half mother. Weaving her braid she is writing her future in a powerful and calm attitude. Surrounded by traditional Mexican wolves she takes her strength from their spirits. The wolf is a strong symbol in the pre-columbian cultures and represents war, sun and strength. It is considered as the absolute predator. In the Wixárikas culture, it also represents wisdom and knowledge.

She recalls the mythology of Romulus and Remus, founders of Roma, and raised by a wolf.
As a mother, she protects her offspring and the future generations of women weaving their strengths in a braid of unity.

This feminine portrait dig on the theme of female power in an interpretation of magic realism.

The pattern of the braid recalls the union of different forces but also the traditions of handcraft weaving as well as the idea of weaving the threads of one’s own future. The braid represents the sacred feminine energy, but also solidarity, union.

She is an allegory of feminine strength and solidarity within the tradition of her community.
