"Acompañar" talks about dependencies, mutual support and personal growth. For its creation, Taquen started from the information provided by the staff of the Escuela de las Artes de San Agustín de Guadalix about the center, its idiosyncrasy and the people who make use of its space. The work represents a series of hands playing the piano, a piano that accompanies, sets the rhythm and pulse and provides strength and character.
Around the mural, we imagine a body that dances and depends on the work of those hands, on that help. Showing the pianist's hands is a subtle way to talk about how the great majority of artistic disciplines are not understandable without the support of others, because what sustains them are people: human beings who complement and need each other, day by day, in every moment. As beings who live in community, we seek opinions, points of view, motivations from each other in order to move forward, make decisions and ultimately grow in all areas of our lives.
"Acompañar" speaks of all this: of finding dependencies and anchors, unions, fusions and positive support among us, of how we need each other without ceasing to be independent.
