The light art installation located directly on the window facade of the old Central Library in the Gildehof Center is called “Lichtzeichen” and was created by Essen-based light artist Peter Brdenk. When darkness falls, soft, colored light highlights the windows and the grid pattern of the facade from within. As a result, the building does not appear as a dark block at night, but instead radiates a lively presence into the urban space
