Te Papa o ngā manu Porotakataka

Description

Artist and designer Paul Darragh went from a fast-paced life in NYC to settling down in the Mount and evolving his painting practice.

Te Papa o ngā manu Porotakataka (The Place of Circling Birds)

“I responded to the name of the location through the eyes of the circling birds. As they soar above the abundant Tauranga Moana they observe the patchwork of landscape below. Our unique environment of sea, beaches, rivers, estuaries, bush and earth is all represented within this mural, through shape and colour. Within the fluid forms of the shapes we experience the interconnectivity of all the natural elements that create balance within our beautiful home.”
