Relational Landscape

The Spanish artist brings his refined and layered pictorial language to Montegrotto Terme, in a work that intertwines natural elements, urban visions, and fragmented reflections of reality. Montes works through a meticulous pictorial process that combines hyperrealism, geometric abstraction, and digital photomontage.

Renowned for his compositions that rework images drawn from everyday contexts – landscapes, architecture, organic details – the artist fragments, recomposes, and merges different layers of perception, creating a kind of mental landscape where each element enters into dialogue with the others.

In this work, the tangle of bare branches, flowers, and reflective surfaces interweaves with broken planes of colour and visual geometries, forming a structure that appears chaotic yet is profoundly harmonious. The contrasts between light and shadow, natural and artificial, fullness and emptiness, speak to us of relationships: between living beings, between subject and space, between dream and rational construction.

“Relations Landscape” is an invitation to observe the world with greater awareness, to read in the details the complexity of the connections that surround us — visible or invisible, tangible or inner. A poetic window onto the landscape of our relationships.
