Description

"One thing is particularly important to KogaOne: he does not want to dictate what you should see in his paintings! You are free to look for a story within this mural - or not! For KogaOne, the moment a work is viewed, it also belongs to the viewer.

KogaOne discovered graffiti about twenty years ago, taught himself to paint, gained experience in graphic design, and gradually developed what he calls his "realistic abstraction." He begins with a recognizable subject, which he then deconstructs, shifts, and juxtaposes with various shapes, color fields, and materials. This method of constructing an image always carries a hint of collage.

After spending a long time focusing on flowers, the sky, and lighter subject matter, he is now - quite literally - returning to solid ground: a figure in a kitchen, everyday scenes, a certain sense of disarray, and an abundance of detail. It is a technical challenge perfectly suited to someone who loves bringing order to complex imagery." (description from the COLORS Urban Art Festival homepage)

KogaOne was among the artists who participated in the 8th edition of the COLORS Urban Art Festival 2026 in Strasbourg. Under the artistic direction of Stom500, the festival brings together urban artists each year, inviting them to create murals at a specially selected site.

The 8th edition of the festival took place at the AFPA training center in Strasbourg. The ten participating artists included Hera, Olivia de Bona, Koga, Rero, Fork One, Missy, FloaFleur, Friture de Style, Loïc Lusnia, and Jean-Michel Ouvry.
