Belarusian human rights defender and Nobel Peace Prize laureate Ales Bialiatski active work is honored by a mural on the wall of S. Daukantas Gymnasium, across from the Belarusian Embassy. This work was created as an expression of support and solidarity not only with Ales Bialiatski, but also with all other political prisoners and activists imprisoned for their struggle for freedom, democracy, and resistance to the regime of Alexander Lukashenko.
This mural has become an important gathering place for the Belarusian community in Lithuania, where like-minded supporters of a free Belarus come together for events dedicated to Belarusian freedom and the people fighting for it.
It was designed by the Lithuanian monumental artist Lina Šlipavičiūtė-Černiauskienė and executed by mural art artists "Gyva grafika".
Ales Bialiatski, who regained his freedom in December 2025, visited this site and had his photo taken there.
