El pescador

Mural made in Cancun in Villas Otoch Paraiso for @streetartcancun as part of the @renace_saf festival.

For this wall I chose a photo of @vmaciasfoto that portrays a young fisherman from Tulum. I felt that the people of the neighbourhood could identify with the image since being a coastal city many people dedicate themselves to this trade or go fishing as a hobby taking advantage of the opportunity to bring food to their loved ones.

In the image the young man arrives very casually showing what he fishes but with a dazzling light behind that makes him look like a hero in the eyes of the youngest of the house

I loved that many people stopped to tell me that they were fishing, or to show me photos of their children with fishing rods and that's why they liked my painting. But the most special thing was when the woman who lived in the house, showing me a small boat made in a mamey seed, told me that her father was a fisherman and a lover of the sea, that he had passed away a week before, and that for her the mural was her father who sent her a sign that he would always be there with her. That's how the little boat appeared on the mural.
