Located in the Santiago Mirat passage, next to the health center, 'Océano' is the title of this painting that is part of the town's Mural Art Route. It is the work of Roberto Becerro from Santa Marta, known artistically as Rober Bece.

Ocean tells the story of life underwater. An explosion of light and color along more than 130 m2 of wall where we discover a multitude of species of marine animals and plants that live in the deepest waters and those that are not so deep.

We will encounter a humpback whale, sea turtles, reef fish and a multitude of corals among many other surprises. The artist points out that "the work is intended to be a window into which we look so that, young and old, we can enjoy the richness and diversity of marine life without getting wet." Rober Bece is once again inspired by nature to bring us closer to the main aquatic ecosystem of our planet, the ocean, through art.

It should be noted that the work has notably changed the image of the passage, providing luminosity to this space for public use that connects Santiago Mirat and Padre Ignacio Ellacuría streets.

Rober Bece is responsible for several of the murals that are part of the Santa Marta art gallery and that are already a hallmark of the municipality.

Situado en el pasaje Santiago Mirat, junto al centro de salud, ‘Océano’ es el título de esta pintura que forma parte de la Ruta de Arte Mural de la localidad. Es obra del santamartino Roberto Becerro, conocido artísticamente como Rober Bece.

Océano cuenta la historia de la vida bajo el agua. Una explosión de luz y color a lo largo de más de 130 m2 de pared donde descubrimos multitud de especies de animales y plantas marinas que habitan en las aguas más profundas y en las que no lo son tanto.

Nos encontraremos con una ballena jorobada, tortugas marinas, peces de arrecife y multitud de corales entre otras muchas sorpresas. Señala el artista, que ”la obra pretende ser una ventana a la que nos asomemos para que, jóvenes y mayores, podamos disfrutar de la riqueza y diversidad de la vida marina sin mojarnos”. Rober Bece vuelve a inspirarse en la naturaleza para acercarnos a través de su arte el principal ecosistema acuático de nuestro planeta, el océano.

Cabe destacar que la obra ha cambiado notablemente la imagen del pasaje, proporcionando luminosidad a este espacio de uso público que une las calles Santiago Mirat con Padre Ignacio Ellacuría.

Rober Bece es responsable de varios de los murales que forman parte de la galería artística de Santa Marta y que ya son una seña de identidad del municipio.
