Artistic collaboration between French artist Mona Luison and Spaniard David de la Mano for the Kromali Festival 2025 on Reunion Island.
Fragile explores the beauty and vulnerability of life through murals and sculptures made from recycled materials. Inspired by the flora and fauna of Réunion Island, the artwork imagines a world where terrestrial and aquatic environments intertwine. In this liminal space, chimeric creatures emerge, crafted from coral, algae, animals, and human fragments. Extinct, endangered, or iconic species intertwine, giving life to an organic, colorful, and teeming landscape. The work celebrates the interconnectedness of ecosystems while reminding us of the fragility of balance and the memory of lost species. Fragile invites us to contemplate, feel, and rethink our connection to the living world.
