Pretty Wall Bilk

Description

The Pretty Wall Bilk is a spectacular urban art project located in the pedestrian underpass of the Düsseldorf-Bilk S-Bahn station. The underpass was transformed into a vibrant open-air gallery in August 2022.

The project was initiated and curated by Klaus Rosskothen, the owner of the nearby street art gallery Pretty Portal. It features massive, striking murals created by 10 different contemporary urban art artists. The artworks showcase an incredible stylistic range — from classic graffiti and stencils to abstract geometric patterns. Many of the murals touch on current socio-political themes, such as the prominent piece by artist L.E.T. (Les Enfants Terribles), which depicts a young refugee girl with the text "For the brave and displaced."

Andrea Ranke (streetartwalks)
In 2013 I started with a new hobby. In the beginning it was difficult to get reliable information how to find streetart in public space. In 2016, I had the idea of sharing my information with other street art enthusiasts and started my blog “Streetartwalks”. When I found out about this new street art community at the beginning of 2018, I was immediately on board.
