SPIDER-MAN NO MORE

Description

The mural is painted onto the commercial roll-up metal shutter of a vintage comic book store by urban artist, Nacho Basave Cavanna

This street art mural is a faithful reproduction of the iconic comic book cover for The Amazing Spider-Man #50, titled "Spider-Man No More!", which was originally published by Marvel Comics in July 1967 and beautifully illustrated by legendary artist John Romita.

This issue marks a pivotal moment in comic book history where Peter Parker, overwhelmed by diffrerent hurdles decides to get rid of his superhero suit and walk away from his alter-ego.

The piece relies on heavy body-language storytelling. Peter Parker is drawn walking away with slumped shoulders and a lowered head, capturing a deep sense of defeat and sadness. Hovering massively over Peter is the vibrant, muscular silhouette of his superhero alter-ego.

The mural uses a bold, high-contrast, limited color palette primary consisting of red, blue, and yellow.
