The artist of this mural was asked by the residents to create this painting. They had two criteria: the artwork had to fit in with the wisteria that grows here, and the painting had to have a connection to the name of the street. The mural depicts Hubert Matthijs Adriaan Jan van Asch van Wijck, who was the mayor of Utrecht between 1827 and 1839. The street is named after him. The quote on the painting reads: “Besturen is niets anders dan met kracht en gemakkelijkheid wel te doen” or: “Governing is nothing more than doing it with strength and ease."
