In Uras, Sardinia, there are two different traditional women's dresses, one for celebration and one for mourning. Unlike most Sardinian towns, where the mourning dress is the same as the party dress but with shades of black, in this town they have two completely different dresses. I must admit that the mourning one struck me a lot and I couldn't help but notice the incredible similarity with the Burka.
Who knows if it is the different contaminations from nearby Africa that led to the choice of this dress.
