Street Art Cities

Tijdens het weekend van 11 en 12 juli 2026 vond de tweede editie van het Nashtival plaats. Tijdens het Nashtival wordt het overlijden van 'Limburger King' Nash, de artiestennaam van Werner Zwakhalzen, herdacht. Vele graffitiartiesten tekenden weer present om bij wijze van muurschilderingen eer te betonen aan hun overleden vriend. Het festival vond plaats rondom jeugdhuis Fuego, het hoofdkwartier van de Love Letters crew en de plaats waar de uitvaartdienst van Nash plaatsvond. Tijdens het Nastival 2026 werd in Fuego ook het boek 'Master of Puppets' over Nash voorgesteld.

Dit werk is een samenwerking tussen Sapo, Dase en Mone.

Sapo is de artiestennaam van Geert Loijen, een Nederlandse graffiti- en streetartkunstenaar uit Weert. Hij staat bekend om zijn kleurrijke, fantasierijke muurschilderingen waarin vaak speelse, fictieve figuren voorkomen die hij 'Sapito's' noemt. Sapo levert ook een grote bijdrage aan de streetartscene in Nederlands Limburg en ver daarbuiten. Een van zijn bekendste projecten is 'Het Zuilen Kabinet' in Weert. Samen met Angelo Martinus nodigt Geert Loijen op regelmatige basis internationale graffiti- en streetartkunstenaars uit om de betonnen pijlers van de Boshoverbrug te beschilderen. Inmiddels zijn er tientallen kunstwerken te zien, waardoor de locatie is uitgegroeid tot een waar openluchtmuseum voor street art. Sapo was ook de organisator van de 'Color me bad' graffiti jam op 2 en 3 mei 2026 in Weert.

Daseone is een muralist en tattooartiest uit Belgisch Limburg. Hij wordt geïnspireerd door calligraffiti en zijn graffitiwerken hebben altijd een strakke flow. Dase is als tattooartiest actief bij Abraxas in Genk en is ook de organisator van de Limburgia Tattoo Convention in het Genkse Thor Park.

Mone is een Duitse graffiti- en street art kunstenaar. Hij is vooral actief in en rond Hamburg en is lid van de UZI Crew, een internationale graffiti crew die in de jaren 90 erg groot was in Europa. De UZI Crew had destijds ongeveer 200 leden, tegenwoordig zijn er nog zo'n 30 actieve leden verspreid over meerdere landen. MONE's werk bestaat uit kleurrijke, stripachtige figuren met grote ogen, veel tanden en speelse, soms monsterachtige gezichten.

The second edition of the Nashtival took place over the weekend of 11 and 12 July 2026. The Nashtival commemorates the death of ‘Limburger King’ Nash, the artist name of Werner Zwakhalzen. Many graffiti artists turned up to pay tribute to their late friend through murals. The festival took place once again around the Fuego youth centre, the headquarters of the Love Letters crew and the venue for Nash’s funeral service. During Nastival 2026, the book 'Master of Puppets', about Nash, was also launched at Fuego.

This work is a collaboration between Sapo, Dase en Mone.

Sapo is the artist name of Geert Loijen, a Dutch graffiti and street artist from Weert. He is known for his colourful, imaginative murals, which often feature playful, fictional characters that he calls ‘Sapitos’. Sapo also makes a significant contribution to the street art scene in Dutch Limburg and far beyond. One of his best-known projects is ‘Het Zuilen Kabinet’ in Weert. Together with Angelo Martinus, Geert Loijen regularly invites international graffiti and street artists to paint the concrete pillars of the Boshoverbrug. There are now dozens of artworks on display, turning the location into a veritable open-air museum of street art. Sapo also organised the ‘Color me bad’ graffiti jam on 2 and 3 May 2026 in Weert.

Daseone is a muralist and tattoo artist from Belgian Limburg. He is inspired by calligraffiti, and his graffiti works always have a sleek flow. As a tattoo artist, Dase works at Abraxas in Genk and he is also the organiser of the Limburgia Tattoo Convention at Thor Park in Genk.

MONE is a German graffiti and street art artist. He is mainly active in and around Hamburg and is a member of the UZI Crew, an international graffiti crew that was hugely popular in Europe during the 1990s. At the time, the UZI Crew had around 200 members; today, there are still around 30 active members spread across several countries. MONE’s work consists of colourful, cartoon-like figures with large eyes, lots of teeth and playful, sometimes monstrous faces.
