Modern Muses

This mural was initiated by the Carter Center, for their "Inform women, transform lives" project. Murals are created in 35 cities all over the world by local artists to illustrate the powerful impact of access to information for women.

The poem by Chahira Kalai reads:
"A string of coloring femality trough the history of women
Oh her tongue speaks the sound the grandchild longs for
In her character she burns the threat of regress
As a muse she lives while her carrier is the spirit of joy
Trails of ignorance covered in gasoline then transformed into a sea
In her arms my soul breathes, in mines she is free"
