This mural was created by YOYOPOP, a creative design duo from London comprising husband and wife Michelle and Trevor. Their distinctive style is instantly recognisable by its bright, saturated Pop Art colours, thick black outlines and fluid graphic shapes.
This mural was created in June 2018. The artwork was painted on the wooden hoardings outside the bus depot in Waterloo, as part of a wider initiative by WeAreWaterloo to brighten up the neighbourhood’s streets
The undulating, organic leaf shapes and circles reflect elements from nature. It was designed to brighten up the typically grey and industrial railway walls and hoardings surrounding Waterloo East station with colour, dynamism and a human touch.
Street art lover/walker/photographer/researcher irl children’s book publisher, author and translator, living in Rotterdam. My favourite place in the world is London and in particular the area around Brick Lane (Shoreditch).
My avatar is a picture taken at the corner of Braithwaite Street and Bethnal Green Road (Shoreditch, London) of a street art poster by Shepard Fairey and Damien Hirst: Third Eye Butterfly Mandala.
