If Music Be the Fruit of Love...

Description

This mural by artist Luke Embden, a well-known British graphic artist, muralist and illustrator who divides his time between London and Berlin, is located at Flat Iron Square. The artwork forms part of Better Bankside’s Shakespeare Art Trail, which was launched in June 2022 to mark the 25th anniversary of Shakespeare’s Globe.

The artwork features the famous quote ‘If music be the food of love, play on’ from Shakespeare’s play Twelfth Night. It is designed in Embden’s characteristic cheerful style, in which he combines free-form typography, bright pop-art colours and bold graphic lines with iconic symbols.
