Description

On the Mokoan Rest Area off the Hume Highway, southbound. Known as the “Freeway Fresco,” this mural serves as a tribute to the iconic Hume Freeway on which the rest area is situated. The artwork showcases a range of classic vehicles and modes of transportation, evoking a sense of nostalgia and capturing the spirit of road travel. Included in the mural are a timeless FC Holden Wagon towing a classic caravan, an old Combi Van, a vintage Mini, a Vespa scooter, a GS Falcon towing a Speed Car, and even a trusty push bike. Each vehicle represents a unique aspect of transportation history and adds a touch of charm to the rest area. The bloke on the bike is a self-portrait of the artist. The woman on the scooter is Cornelia Selover @cornelia_selover_art.
