Grietje Killian is an artist from the Galerie Atelier Herenplaats, a collective known worldwide for its work with individuals who have intellectual disabilities (classified as Outsider Art). Killian has a huge affinity for collages and she employs a wide range of techniques and materials.

The Rini artwork was initially rendered on a small canvas and was translated in this mural by the ‘Painture collective’. Rini, a resident of Oude Westen, held a prominent status within the local community. He devoted himself to various social initiatives, contributing positively to the neighborhood. On special occasions, he would often be seen dressed as the Easter Bunny or Santa Claus, creating cherished memories etched into the hearts of the locals. Following his unexpected passing, the neighborhood asked for a memorial, resulting in this artwork.
