Great Southern Reef

Description

'Great Southern Reef' magical mural and extras completed in workshop over 4 days with students, bubs, young visitors and big kids by the waterside of the Australian National Maritime Museum for National Science week. Featuring (clockwise from the handsome divers head) Jimble Jellyfish, Giant Aussie Cuttlefish, Southern Blue Devil, Fiddler Ray, Six Spine Leatherjacket, Gunn's Six Armed Seastar, Port Jackson Shark, Leafy Sea dragon, a school of Bullseye Pempheris, Old Wife and Silver Sweep. All species found throughout the southern waters of Australia, facing serious challenges to their survival back home in South Australia thanks to a nasty algal bloom- solutions for which may be macro scale installation of coastal wetlands, oyster reefs and kelp forest farms.
