Description

Year: 2023

Building: The gable end of a 14-story residential building.

Wall area: Approximately 460 m², with the mural itself covering around 300 m². The work was completed in approximately two weeks.

At the center of the composition is a schoolgirl returning home from school. She interacts with the surrounding world through birds, nature, and rays of sunlight, while reaching toward the stars.

According to the artist's concept, the girl represents childhood, dreams, and the aspiration for a brighter future. This is why the mural was given the name “Hope.”

The mural appeared in May 2023, shortly before the European Political Community Summit in Chisinau. Some Moldovan media outlets described it as a symbol of the country's aspiration toward a European future.

At the same time, the official description of the mural focuses primarily on childhood, dreams, and hope, rather than on political symbolism.

The building is located near Zimbru Stadium, and its gable wall is clearly visible to people travelling along Dacia Boulevard toward the airport. In this sense, the location was deliberately chosen as a highly visible surface, effectively serving as a large urban canvas.
