Parabolic Spiral

Description

One of two public art sculptures on 7th Street by Sam Sutton, the other ("Hyperbolic Ellipsoid") being a block to the south. Sutton moonlighted as an artist in between his work as an patent attorney. "Parabolic Spiral" was erected in the early 1980s as the City of Phoenix attempted to bring more art and culture to the downtown area.

As a graphic designer, photographer and art director working in economic development, to say I’m passionate about street art is an understatement. Public art is vital to building communities that reflect the heart and soul of the people who live there.
