Schauspielhaus Bochum Underground Station

The Schauspielhaus Underground station in Bochum is located at the intersection of Hattinger Straße and Königsallee. The stop for tram lines 308/318 has exits leading directly to Königsallee, Oskar-Hoffmann-Straße, and right to the Schauspielhaus. The intermediate level (also called the mezzanine or concourse level) of the underground station features Germany's first commercial theme tunnel. Spanning around 700 square meters, this area is designed as a small underground shopping arcade and cultural hub. It hosts:

·         several small retail spaces located within the concourse

·         the Sold Out Gallery, a street art and contemporary art gallery operating directly inside the station.

The station was redesigned by Denis Klatt in 2023 as part of the city's project "Hin und weg – Graffitikunst statt Schmierereien".
