Mural by Blancbec in Andenne prison.
Brussels-based artist Blancbec had been active as a graffiti artist for several years when he discoverd hand-painted posters stuck directly to the wall on the streets of Barcelona.
This prompted him to repurpose the letter and create bold geometric characters, such as the little bird that plays the main role in his work. The bird and the artist became known as ‘Blancbec’, chosen for the artist's inexperience and the certainty of his bird.
His vibrant murals, with their distinctive geometric construction and vivid range of colours, can be found all over Europe.
