The transformer station has been painted in Sogoshow’s highly recognisable style: on one wall there is a wolf with a stork on its back; on another butterflies and caterpillars; on a third, a stag and birds; and on the last, an owl and pigeons.

Here’s what the SogoShow team has to say about the design:

" We spoke to local residents to find out what they would like to see painted. As well as plants and animals, we often heard words such as love and tolerance.

A moving story from one of the neighbours led us to a quote by Martin Luther King: “Darkness cannot drive out light, only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate, only love can do that”. This formed the starting point for our design. Within this theme, the chosen animals all have a symbolic meaning; they act as ‘champions of love’ who bring light into the darkness.

One particular detail is based on another quote, from @aesoprockwins: “It’s a pity about the stigmas. How the cooties overshadow any beauty that enriches us. A white dove symbolises peace and pacifism. A white dove is a pigeon; you mufagas are bigots.”

We have depicted the city pigeon and the white dove together. Two forms of the same animal, but viewed differently by society based on their physical characteristics. "
