Ernesto Behm's Poem

Description

The mural depicts Ernesto Behm’s poem, which can be found on a plate at the bottom left of the mural. It recalls the history of the neighbourhood from the Romans to the Germans, via the Vikings, the Spanish and the French. It concludes with a wish that peace (Vrede) and tranquillity (Rust) may reign over the actual neighbourhood of apartment blocks with its mix of cultures – hence the name Vrederust!

The mural is located at the intersection of Beresteinlaan and Schoutendreef.

Hunter

Mond_00F
I've been hunting street art for 7 years purely for the joy of photography. Most of my photos are taken in The Hague (Netherlands) and Nice (France) but wherever I come across a nice street art mural, I add it in my personal collection. However, taking pictures only makes sense if one can share them...So I'm glad to be now a hunter of the Street Art Cities community !
