The KunstLichtTore Bochum project is a creative lighting concept in the public spaces of the city of Bochum. It transforms 16 railway bridges around the city center into luminous city gates through artistic light installations.

Gate 15 addresses the themes of migration, multicultural society, and globalization. The words “Where to” and “Where from” are displayed in numerous languages as neon signs mounted back-to-back on transparent acrylic panels suspended from the bridge’s ceiling above the roadway. Looking toward the city center, one reads “Where from”; looking away from the city, “Where to.”
