KANAL DISTRICT BY SPRAY ART

Réalisée par le collectif SPRAY ART, cette grande fresque murale orne un pignon de brique blanche et rend hommage au quartier du canal de Bruxelles. À gauche, un panneau affiche en lettres bleues, rouges et blanches le message « Kanal District : Art. Food. Life. », qui résume l’esprit créatif et festif du lieu.

La scène déroule un panorama du canal et de ses rives : péniches amarrées, grue portuaire en métal, immeubles en verre, tours modernes, façades en briques et arbres aux feuillages dorés. Les reflets des bâtiments dans l’eau donnent de la profondeur à l’ensemble. Le trait, souligné de contours noirs dans un esprit proche de la bande dessinée, et la palette de bleu ciel, de turquoise, d’ocre et de jaune moutarde rendent le paysage lisible et lumineux. La fresque mêle ainsi le patrimoine industriel du canal et l’architecture contemporaine du quartier.

Created by the SPRAY ART collective, this large mural decorates a white-brick gable wall and pays tribute to the Brussels canal district. On the left, a sign in blue, red and white lettering reads “Kanal District: Art. Food. Life.”, capturing the creative, lively spirit of the area.

The scene unfolds a panorama of the canal and its banks: moored barges, a metal harbour crane, glass buildings, modern towers, brick façades and trees with golden foliage. The buildings’ reflections in the water add depth to the whole. The black-outlined, comic-style linework and the palette of sky blue, turquoise, ochre and mustard yellow make the landscape clear and luminous. The mural blends the canal’s industrial heritage with the district’s contemporary architecture.
