The mural ‘The Rain’ was created by a Russian artist living in Mannheim as part of the STADT.WAND.KUNST 2025 project in Mannheim. The title was chosen because the work was painted in rainy and windy conditions. The mural conveys hope, solidarity and optimism – difficult times are followed by new opportunities.
The mural depicts three figures with different skin tones and expressions, as well as swallows symbolising movement and freedom. The warm colours provide a deliberate contrast to the grey surroundings. The work is intended to instil courage and hope in people.
