Magnolia

The presented series of murals creates a cohesive, exceptionally atmospheric wall and ceiling decoration, strongly referencing the aesthetics of classical mythology, the Renaissance, the Baroque, and the elegant 18th-century Rococo style. Two distinct color palettes clearly dominate the entire composition: a deep, sensual purple combined with Pompeian red, and a rich, worn gold with schlagmetal flakes.

The sections with intense red and burgundy backgrounds depict mythological motifs and classical nudes. Among them, the scene depicts Europa being abducted by the Bull and the figure of the Minotaur set against a textured background engraved with the Latin phrase "Omnia vincit amor et nos cedamus amori" ("Love conquers all, and let us yield to love"). Other fragments depict a muscular, helmeted gladiator framed between decorative curtains, intimate love scenes, and a woman with a raised arm emerging from a dark, distressed background. The painting style is reminiscent of a classic sketch, with distinct chiaroscuro and the texture of distressed plaster.

The second module of the mural comprises compositions immersed in a golden, illusionistic surface, where scenes from engravings or intimate genre paintings are depicted in oval, distressed medallions and stylized frames. These include a resting nude, a figure playing a lute in period costume, a seated woman adjusting her garter, and an elegant Harlequin or actor holding a mask against a sanguine landscape backdrop. The entire piece is characterized by a refined, lightly patinated finish, combining the roughness of distressed plaster with the elegance of inlaid gold.
