At the crossroads between the subconscious and concrete, Man-x, stencil artist from Le Havre, creates murals as though opening the doors to inner worlds. In Padua, with this work conceived specifically for an urban route, he experiments with a new technique: a raw, almost instinctive background created with roller and spray, upon which a stencil is applied and then retouched by hand, giving depth and vibration to the composition.
Usually faithful to black and white, here Manx makes a bold departure. Inspired by the theme of the dream, he chooses pink — a colour of imagination, of hallucinatory sweetness, but also of pure emotion. A courageous, almost sensual choice, enveloping the scene in an aura suspended between tenderness and strength.
In this reimagined urban landscape, a woman with strong features advances alongside a wolf, a silent totem, companion of the subconscious. Together they embody the duality of the dream: lucid and wild, intimate and collective. A powerful vision, an invitation to slow one’s gaze and cross the wall — not as a barrier, but as a threshold.
With Manx, the dream becomes matter. It imprints itself on walls, splashes into the city, and reminds us that every façade can become a shelter for our imaginations.
