An interpretation of “The Great Wave off Kanagawa” (Japanese: Kanagawa oki nami ura), the famous ukiyo-e-style colour woodblock print by the Japanese artist Katsushika Hokusai. The artwork has been displayed for many years on the outer wall of a sports hall belonging to the Clara Schumann Gymnasium.
