A StreetArt Bergen Project. Mannsverk is one of the oldest suburbia in Bergen. Dates back to 1958 and contain some 500 flats. The “Surrealistic Aquarium” by Harem was a test project finding out what the people of Mannsverk thought about street art. The result was overwhelming – as they often are. People loved it. As the tunnel under the high riser functions as a funnel – we had to block both entrances to provide calm working conditions for the artist. That created a nice grotto for Harem to paint within. The project was a test for something bigger – we had hoped for. The bigger was an international mural festival where we would have painted the end walls on the apartment buildings including the huge one of 32 meters. That didn’t turn out. But we managed to paint the tunnel. Project ran in April 2019.
Huge shout out to Bengt Nilsen the janitor. Project was financed by Mannsverk Boliglag AS Project management by StreetArt Bergen.
Started walking the streets back in 2015. This developed into shooting and documenting our streets. From there I dove into the scene becoming part of it. I developed the platform StreetArt Bergen (FB/STREETARTBERGEN.TRUE). A platform for documenting and organizing projects. By 2023 our projects have painted over 30K m2 of graffiti and street art in our turf. Largest single project was more than 13K m2.We don’t do tours nor merch. Good hunting in our turf.
