This illustration uses the silhouette of the bandstand located in Campo 5 de Outubro as a background against which the main subject, the musician devil, inspired by the figurative pieces of António Ramalho, appears in contrast. In addition to the bandstand, the silhouettes of two members of a music band are included, also iconic pieces of figuration that are present in the square in the form of a statue, creating yet another connection between the illustration and the space it occupies. Decorative motifs typically present in utilitarian pottery pieces are distributed throughout the illustration. These, together with the selected colours, also seek to emulate the appearance of a decorated clay piece. All elements seek to create a cohesive image that conveys youthfulness, celebration and pilgrimage, through their emotional associations.

In The BOX is project organised by Casa da Juventude de Barcelos. The aim is to “involve young people in the creation of new projects that enhance their appreciation and capabilities”.
