La Finestra Sull'Anima

In the heart of the Parco della Repubblica in Cadoneghe, JDL has created a monumental work that acts as both threshold and mirror of the soul. Across an entire paved area, the Dutch artist has painted a gigantic eye, crossed by the image of a human hand pressing from within, as if trying to break through the surface to communicate with the outside.

The work stems from a personal experience: moments shared with loved ones in which sustaining eye contact became difficult in the face of deep emotions and intimate truths. From this observation came the awareness that eyes are not merely features of the face, but a fragile yet powerful boundary between the inner self and the world.

“The Window to the Soul” celebrates precisely this silent strength: the courage required to open oneself to others, and the beauty that emerges when genuine connection occurs. Through a pictorial language both incisive and full of pathos, JDL invites viewers not to look away, but to embrace the unique value of human relationships.

This is a work that speaks to everyone, transforming a public space into a place of reflection, empathy, and dialogue.
