Nadège Dauvergne maakte deze dubbele muurschildering naar aanleiding van de 70ste verjaardag van de oprichting van de Budabrug.

Dauvergne baseerde haar werk op het schilderij 'Magasin près du Moulin Saint-Michel' van de Belgische kunstenaar Jean-Baptiste Van Moer (1819-1884), bekend om zijn afbeeldingen van het Brusselse kanaal tijdens de overwelving van de Zenne.

De muurschildering kwam tot stand dankzij een samenwerking tussen het Street Art parcours van de stad Brussel en de stad Vilvoorde. Het werk van Nadège Dauvergne verbindt op symbolische wijze de straatkunstscènes van beide steden. Door straatkunst naar Buda te brengen, opent de stad Vilvoorde een nieuwe culturele poort. De muurschildering verfraait niet alleen de lokale omgeving, maar staat ook symbool voor de verbinding tussen steden, tussen natuur en industrie en tussen mensen over stedelijke grenzen heen.

Nadège Dauvergne a créé cette double peinture murale pour marquer le 70e anniversaire de la fondation du pont de Buda.

Nadège Dauvergne s'est inspirée du tableau « Magasin près du Moulin Saint-Michel » de l'artiste belge Jean-Baptiste Van Moer (1819-1884), connu pour ses représentations du canal de Bruxelles lors du débordement de la Zenne.

La fresque a été réalisée grâce à une collaboration entre le Street Art trail de la Ville de Bruxelles et la Ville de Vilvorde. Le travail de Nadège Dauvergne relie symboliquement les scènes artistiques urbaines des deux villes. En amenant l'art urbain à Buda, la ville de Vilvoorde ouvre une nouvelle porte culturelle. La fresque murale embellit non seulement l'environnement local, mais symbolise également le lien entre les villes, entre la nature et l'industrie, et entre les personnes au-delà des frontières urbaines.

Nadège Dauvergne created this double mural on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the founding of the Buda Bridge.

Dauvergne based her work on the painting ‘Magasin près du Moulin Saint-Michel’ by the Belgian artist Jean-Baptiste Van Moer (1819-1884), known for his depictions of the Brussels canal during the arching of the Zenne.

The mural was created thanks to a collaboration between the Street Art trail of the City of Brussels and the City of Vilvoorde. Nadège Dauvergne's work symbolically connects the street art scenes of both cities. By bringing street art to Buda, the city of Vilvoorde is opening a new cultural gateway. The mural not only beautifies the local environment, but also symbolises the connection between cities, between nature and industry, and between people across urban boundaries.
