The Southern Railway (EN)

In this impressive artwork, visual artist Sonna Krom tells the story of the city’s development—from farmland to an industrial city. Sonna Krom spent three weeks working on this piece using oil paint, her signature medium. The former Zuiderspoor railway line, which ran into the city along Buurserstraat, plays a central role in the artwork.

Op dit indrukwekkende kunstwerk vertelt beeldend kunstenaar Sonna Krom het verhaal van de ontwikkeling van de stad. Van boerenland naar een industriële stad. Drie weken lang werkte Sonna Krom met olieverf, haar handelsmerk, aan dit kunstwerk. Het voormalige Zuiderspoor, dat langs de Buurserstraat de stad inliep, speelt daarin een centrale rol.
