This artwork is painted on the roller shutter of a jeans shop at 38 Toynbee Street. At the centre is the iconic Hollywood actor James Dean, depicted in his characteristic rebellious pose, leaning against a classic car. James Dean is recognised worldwide as a symbol of the rise of jeans as a fashion and cultural icon amongst young people in the 1950s.
The painting was created in early summer 2026 (June), just before the official opening party of this flagship store on 18 June 2026.
As the work is painted on a roller shutter, the artwork is only visible when the shop is closed.
