This urban mural, painted in 2021 by the artist Sake, was commissioned by the Luque Town Council to commemorate the International Day of Rural Women, celebrated every October 15th to highlight the role of women in rural areas.

The composition depicts a woman in the midst of her workday, bent over a field, harvesting crops. This scene captures with great realism and respect the daily dedication of the women of Luque, who have traditionally been fundamental pillars of agricultural development and family sustenance in their community.

With a palette of greens, earth tones, and natural hues, the mural connects deeply with the rural landscape that surrounds it, evoking the olive groves and typical agricultural activity of the Subbética region of Córdoba. More than an aesthetic representation, the work is a visual tribute to the strength, perseverance, and contribution of women in rural life, elements that form part of the identity of this Andalusian town.

Since its inauguration in October 2021, this mural has become a symbol of community recognition, highlighting the social and cultural value of women's work in the countryside and promoting reflection on the roots, traditions and roles that sustain rural life.

Este mural urbano, pintado en 2021 por el artista Sake, fue encargado por el Ayuntamiento de Luque con motivo del Día Internacional de las Mujeres Rurales, una efeméride celebrada cada 15 de octubre para poner en valor el papel de las mujeres en el medio rural.

La composición muestra a una mujer en plena jornada de trabajo, inclinada sobre el campo, recogiendo productos de la tierra. Esta escena capta con gran realismo y respeto la dedicación cotidiana de las mujeres luqueñas que han sido tradicionalmente pilares fundamentales del desarrollo agrícola y del sustento familiar en su entorno.

Con una paleta de verdes, tierras y tonos naturales, el mural conecta profundamente con el paisaje rural que lo alberga, evocando los olivares y la actividad agrícola típica de la Subbética cordobesa. Más que una representación estética, la obra es un homenaje visual a la fuerza, constancia y contribución de las mujeres en la vida rural, elementos que forman parte de la identidad de este pueblo andaluz.

Desde su inauguración en octubre de 2021, este mural se ha convertido en un símbolo de reconocimiento comunitario, destacando el valor social y cultural del trabajo femenino en el campo y promoviendo una reflexión sobre las raíces, tradiciones y roles que sostienen la vida rural.
