Description

The “Naturmaschine” (Nature Machine) is a prominent, three-part outdoor sculpture created in 1969. It was crafted by the renowned German artist couple Brigitte and Martin Matschinsky-Denninghoff.

The artwork explores the tension between technology and nature. Three geometrically rigid steel cubes (representing the rational machine world) are violently pierced and overgrown by thick, organic, and fluidly curved tubular streams. It creates the illusion of raw, biological nature dynamically breaking out of or consuming a rigid machine.

In 2013 I started with a new hobby. In the beginning it was difficult to get reliable information how to find streetart in public space. In 2016, I had the idea of sharing my information with other street art enthusiasts and started my blog “Streetartwalks”. When I found out about this new street art community at the beginning of 2018, I was immediately on board.
