Mykolė Ganusauskaitė spent her childhood summers in the Ignalina district, and the landscapes and nature of this region inspire most of the artist's works. The painting "Marsh" reflects the nature of Aukštaitija and interacts beautifully with the surroundings of the gymnasium, integrating into the environment. The work depicts a wetland discovered during a walk: bright and dark tree trunks soaked in still water, in which their reflections, as if an extension of the trees themselves, can be seen, contrasting with the dried white birch grove standing in the distance.
The mural was painted with the help of Tadas Vincaitis - Plūgas. He is famous representative of the neofresco genre in Lithuania.
The project, partially funded by the Lithuanian Council for Culture, was implemented by the Ignalina NPP Regional Development Agency.
