On a house gable on Hostrupvej, Copenhagen, an old razor advertising mural has now been restored. The motif shows the so-called Ginge-Man. He is shown shaving with the harnesses hanging down his feet. By his side is the slogan: "The sharpest blade is Ginge". The razorblade brand Ginge and the Ginge-Man appeared on countless murals in 1930s and 40s Denmark. The advertisement, which was found on both murals and as enamel signs, was one of the most popular advertisements for razor blades in its time. Today items containing the Ginge-Man is primarily a collector's item. “I have always been fascinated by the 1930 murals particularly for the imagination and humor they had. Helping to bring the Ginge-Man back to Frederiksberg has been fun and a pleasure to curate.
