Urban art festivals in Los Alcázares began with the founding event "Alkazar Street Art Festival" in May 2015, which saw the realization of 15 murals.

This first edition led to the creation of the "I Festival Arte Urbano Museo del Mar Menor", the fourth edition of which was held from May 14 to 17, 2026. This annual event, organized by the Ayuntamiento de Los Alcázares and the association La Compañía de Mario, aims to transform the city into an open-air museum and strengthen its tourist attractiveness through the "El mar que inspira" strategy.
