Through interviews, it was found that the community prefers the artwork to have traditional elements instead of landmarks or buildings. One shop-owner at the centre expressed that he would like to see images of fishes or animals as part of the artwork on the walls. The mural seeks to portray Chinatown in an alternate world through a window, in a shop house, with a lucky koi and auspicious icons.
