Dans le cadre de l’opération nationale « Le M.U.R. », la Commune de Saint-Raphaël a choisi en 2017 de soutenir l’implantation dans le centre ancien d’un nouveau lieu de création artistique dédié à l’art urbain.

Elle a d’abord accompagné l’association « Move In Silence », puis aujourd’hui « Artem 83 », dans la mise en œuvre de ce procédé, qui permet à des artistes urbains, de manière régulière, d’investir un support de 3 mètres de haut par 8 mètres de large, en y réalisant sur place une performance originale et éphémère, de type « Street art ». Un projet contribuant à promouvoir l’art contemporain et plus particulièrement l’art urbain. Et qui emprunte à l’affichage publicitaire sa périodicité : 5 oeuvres se succèdent par an sur ce support fourni à l’origine par la société DECAUX.

L’Association « ARTEM 83 » s’appuie à cet effet sur le parrainage de l’association nationale « Le M.U.R.» (Modulable, Urbain, Réactif), pionnière du projet dans le quartier d’Oberkampf à Paris en 2007. L’Association nationale qui a accompagné depuis la création d’une trentaine de « MURS » en France (Bordeaux, Marseille, Nancy, Pérols, Roubaix…) en parrainant les associations locales, à l’identique du dispositif proposé à SAINT-RAPHAEL.

L’inauguration de ce 20ème MUR en France en juin 2017 à SAINT-RAPHAEL, a depuis renforcé l’identité culturelle du centre ancien de Saint-Raphaël, par sa complémentarité avec le Quartier des Arts et les « Rencontres artistiques du Safranié ».

L’association locale « ARTEM 83 » et sa Présidente Emma PICQ propose avec le soutien de la Ville, la réalisation d’une œuvre éphémère d’art urbain à l’occasion de chaque édition des Rencontres du Safranié ; soit 5 par an réalisées les premiers vendredis de février, avril, juin, octobre et décembre.

Pourvu qu’elles aient un lien avec la logique artistique urbaine, toutes les techniques, tous les modes d’intervention sont accueillis. Graffiti, Street Art, Détournements, Installations, In Situ, les contributions sont libres et multiples.
