On Virginia Road, Australian street artist SMUG has painted a mural which pays homage to the RNLI. Painted in September 2020 it is a portrait of Mike Jones who had recently celebrated 40 years of service with the organisation. Indeed Mike still volunteers at the New Brighton Lifeboat station. The mural can be seen from the harbourside looking from there into the town.
