Description

This mural in Seligenstadt am Main was created by the well-known local artist Joachim Rühl, whose distinct signature "J. Rühl" can be seen in red paint in the bottom right corner of the piece. The artwork is located somewhat hidden on a building wall directly behind the Altstadt multi-storey car park. While it does not hold an official, state-registered title, it is commonly referred to in a descriptive manner as the "Historic Main Riverbank View" or "Staufen Fortification." The motif portrays a historical reconstruction of Seligenstadt's medieval riverfront. Clearly visible are the prominent, round Pulverturm (Powder Tower) on the left edge and the River Main flowing in the foreground. The mural was painted as part of a local beautification initiative to revitalize a previously blank wall and visually bring the rich history of the Einhardstadt into the public space.

The second picture shows a figure on the left, which is dressed in traditional historical attire, complete with a wide-brimmed hat, holding a large flag or banner. To the right, the painting showcases the historic gateway tower, which was built between 1604 and 1605 as an integral part of the town's medieval fortifications and northern defensive wall.
